In order to get up to the bell, we had to climb tight stair cases, walk past creaky floorboards, and step over broken stairs. When we got up to the bell, it was very chilly and foggy. Stephen thought that Samuel's big black pick-up truck would be great to go down on. Stephen tied a rope to the big pick-up truck and went down in the Tonka Truck. Stephen was a lot heavier than Samuel so he went a lot faster. He went past the big truck which pulled him back very fast because of how slow it was going. He fell on the ground and Samuel rolled over his arm! His biggest Christmas present was going to the ER to get X-rays. Fortunately, his arm was not broken, just sprained. His good friend, Isaac Daming, turned 2 the same day. Our families decided to celebrate together. We invited Gran Mary and Gan Brown. It was wonderful to celebrate together with hamburgers, cake and ice cream, and charades. Grace asked Mrs Lundquist to help design the cake. Samuel requested "Henry," a Thomas the tank engine friend, because his name is Samuel Henry Breagy. As we were singing "Happy Birthday" the boys became excited and blew out the candles before we finished singing.

Van

Every year, a couple days after Christmas, we go to see our friends in Indiana. On Wednesday, December 31st, Daddy was driving in the 15-passenger van to go to a meeting with Mr. Williams and Mr. Mozingo (2 of the elders of the church there). The van was low on fuel so He pulled into the gas station to feul up. He pulled out and was just going to get on the highway when the car stopped running. He tried to start it up but it would not start. Suddenly, he saw a flame under the hood. He went into the gas station to see if anyone had a fire extinguisher. He walked in and heard someone say "Hey, Someone's car is one fire!". Dad turned and saw the car was on fire! He called Mr. Daming and told him to come and to bring a fire extinguisher. They got there but it was to much for only on fire extinguisher so they called 911. When they got there, it was too late, the van was swallowed up with flames. We do not have a van any more. Please pray for us as we look for a new car!

Christmas 2008

On Christmas Day, 2008, everyone tried to wake up as early as they could. The Children were the first ones of course! We got downstairs and everyone opened their stockings! The Children were laughing and Shouting out what they got. Then we opened one present and then we had cinnamin rolls. Then we opened the rest of the presents. After that, Steve, Grace, and Stephen went to the ER to get X-rays on his arm. When they got home, everyone went to the Brown's house to drop off some gifts for them. Then we had a Christmas dinner with turkey and mashed potatoes. The weather was beautiful! It was sunny and warm. We went up to Burial Hill and Mr. Phillips talked about it. He also told us that the Pilgrims were going to have a parade and that we could march in it with them! They would start on the street and then walk up to Burial Hill and then John Robinson would "preach a sermon". My friends and I ran down there with their parents and we waited for a little while. Finally, when heard a drum! They were coming! We saw them and when the last Pilgrim passed us, we hopped in line. It was kind of a long walk. When we got to Burial Hill, John Robinson gave his 10 minute sermon. When we were done, we walked to the Pilgrim Museum. I got to do a treasure hunt. I even got to touch a piece of Plymouth Rock! Then we had a Thanksgiving dinner. It was a very big dinner! When we got to the cottage, we went straight to bed. We were so worn out!

Heavy Equipment

<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://bp0.blogger.com/_IjVqi0ZJqjk/R5z_kuBECvI/AAAAAAAAAFQ/oa_yQGlU4ro/s320/DSC_0048.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5160280279352609522" />
While staying in Indiana with some of our very best friends, the Damings, Stephen was called out to an excavating job.

Plymouth-Wednesday

On Wednesday we walked to the Mayflower II. It looked like what the Pilgrims would have come to New England in! It was pretty small! Then we hoped on the buses and went to Salem. We got to see nathaniel Bowditch's birthplace and his glasses and a few pages from his notebook! Then Mr. Jehle (Jaylee)told us about the Salem witch trials. Then we walked to the very dock where Adoniram Judson boarded and walked off the ship he was on. Then Shea and my dad went to the oldest candy shop in the world. The rest of us just went back to the buses with mom. Then we drove back to the cottage.

Plymouth-Tuesday

Tuesday was an exciting day. We met at a hotel and then we walked to Plymouth Rock. I thought that it would have been a little bit bigger but it was not. It had 1620 engraved on it. After that we went to the Mothers monument. It was Mr. Phillips's favorite. It told how mothers brought up their children in sturdy virtue. On the front it had a mother on it. We walked to the Bradford statue where we got some hot chocolate. The William Bradford statue was a picture of William Bradford leaning on his sword. Then we went to Brewster Garden. It was beautiful! It had flowers all around it and there was an entrance, oh it was beautiful! Then we went to the Jenny Grist Mill. He showed us how the mill worked. I was afraid that the whole entire mill would blow up! But it didn't. Then we hoped on a bus and went to Plymouth Plantation. It was great! They do such a good job rein acting how the pilgrims would have acted, dressed, talked etc. Then we had dinner with the pilgrims! It was terrific! Some of the food was yucky but I had some of all of it. Then we came home on the buses and went back to the cottage.

Plymouth-Monday

On Monday, we did not have to do anything except for eating dinner with everyone. We went to Target just to look. Then we went to Stop n Shop and dad got some groceries. When we got home we had lunch and then took a rest. When we got up we had some free time and then it was time to go to the dinner. When we got there, there were not many people there. So we reserved some seats and mom and dad talked for a little while. Then, the dinner started. We had an excellent dinner. After the dinner we were so tired that we just went home.

Plymouth-Sunday

The next day my dad decided not to go to the Church because everyone was tired from our trip and the girls were sleeping in. In stead we just relaxed. Then we went to our cottage that we were staying in and sat down and just talked. After that, we went to go see Our Great grandmother, Nana Breagy. When we reached the nursing home, a nurse helped us find her. She kissed all of us and asked us how we were doing. We told her we were doing fine. She was in good condition and was excited that they were going to realese her to her own house in a few days. We said good-bye and then went back to the cottage. We picked up Ms. Blair because she was coming with us to Plymouth also. After 5 hours of traveling, we reached West Point. We went there because that is where my Dad went to school. We wanted to watch a little bit of an Army football game but the security guys stopped us and said that you could not go in unless you had a West Point card that showed that you served there or if you had a special reason. Well, my Dad's card had expired and he did not have it so we could not go in. We went to the visitors center instead. After that we hopped in the car and drove to a nearby hotel were we spend the night. The next day, we were going to go to Dr. Paul Jehle's Church.
